If was important for me in the story Sacrifice to NOT have anyone be completely innocent. I had to make even Frankie and Alicia do something slightly off kilter to each other to: 1) make it real and round out their characters and 2) because no one is completely innocent. The character who closely fits this is Alicia because technically she hasn’t done anything wrong and has had control snatched away because of circumstance.
It was important that even with a feel-good-kind-of ending to show that things were not perfect. No ending is perfect but it is livable.
