#FlashFiveFriday August 31st Myths

The crow traveled across the silvery sky. One black glassy eye looking at the world, the other crossed to see the spirit world. The messages from each side connected.

Blue, green, brown, yellow. Frizzy, round, square. Movement. Good, bad.

The crow tilted away from big bad movement. There. Small yellow. No movement. Good.

The spirit world hummed. The world was good. The crow swept down to the specks of yellow. Yellow good. Criss-crossing lines of brown stopped the crow from returning to the silvery sky. Big bad movement.

The world spoke, “Forgive us our need.”

The spirit world hummed.

    • I do to. The crow is supposed to be the messenger between this world and the spirit world. I am cross-eyed (fixed with surgery) so I always loved it that the crow was cross-eyed for a reason. The other bit is something I remember about how Indians viewed animals they had to hunt. They asked for forgiveness for their need.
