Thank you Gail Baugniet for tagging me on The Next Big Thing last week!
What is the working title of your book?
Where did the idea come from for the book?
Something personal happened and I realized that I will take a secret to my grave. I played the what-if game – What if someone was supposed to take a secret to their grave for a good reason, but then decided they couldn’t.
What genre does your book fall under?
I think thriller more than a mystery and I love action thrillers. There are police and gangs and con-men and good guys too!
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Esai Morales would play the detective and probably one of the vatos from The Walking Dead to play the gang members. James Olmos could play the grandfather. Selma Hayak, Sonya Braga, Jessica Alba could play some of the female roles.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Maria de Salvo intended to take her family secret to the grave, but when the end is near and Father Eugenio administers last rights, she changes her mind.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Indie all the way. Traditional publishing probably won’t have me.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Ha! Still working on it. Should be done by the end of the summer.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Hmmm. With Hispanic main characters? I’m don’t know. Anyone?
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Personal experience.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Family secrets, murder, mayhem, revenge, sacrifice, and love.
Tag you’re it!
